Rocka 2000

This was the first year I wasn't technically involved in Rock Challenge, due to it being my GCSE year, but I still managed to provide half the soundtrack and do costume designs :-) The theme was "Evolution Revolution" to celebrate the turn of the millennium, and in my opinion was one of our best ever entries :-) We came second place again (woohoo!) and received the award for Best Set, finally, (well done Mr Stevens!).  Davison High came first, and I think I'm right in saying went on to do very well in the finals, coming second or even first (but don't quote me on that!) Our story arched over different periods in time.  To start with is dinosaurs and evolution of man and all that, then the ice age with snap shots of the Roman Empire, Medieval people (the Magna Carter or something) and 18th century noblemen etc...Then onto the industrial revolution, and then into the future where the comet that started life  on Earth at the beginning of the piece crashed back down to Erath, ending life just as easily as if had started.  Cool huh? Plus the set for the future dance was the Stature of Liberty, like in Planet of the Apes, which I though rocked :-) The soundtrack included the opening credits of Godzilla, "Larger Than Life" by Back Street Boys , "Frozen" by Madonna, "Sweet Dreams" by The Eurhythmics and a Janet Jackson track, possibly "Nasty Boys", but I could be wrong :-)
