"Parallel Montage"
He he he - my first proper film :-) We had to (in our groups of five) make a three minute film using parallel montage - basically, two storylines running at the same time to reach one conclusion. We did something similar to the opening of Four Weddings and a Funeral; a young couple are going on holiday with the girl's disapproving parents. Unfortunately, the boy over-sleeps and then has to run round like a mad thing to try and make it on time. It was great fun to make (we had more silly out-takes and bloopers than actual film!) and our audience laughed lots :-)

The boy smacking his alarm clock onto snooze, with three different types of alcohol on his bedside table, an ashtray, guitar and passport.

The family outside their stately home.

The boy finally realises the time with an "OH FFF***!"

The boy hurrying to get washed. Here he's looking into the mirror :-)

The girl tries calling her boyfriend on his phone, but he's left it in his room - oh no!

The boy crashes into an unsuspecting bystander (yours truly!) on the stairwell, and their belongings go everywhere, delaying him even further.

The girl calls yet again as her mother comes over to stand by her shoulder, a very disapproving look on her face as she takes the phone off her daughter, listens to it ringing briefly, then hangs up. In the next shot we see six missed calls on the boy's phone.

The boy runs across all sorts of places, including this beautiful lake :-) He's the white blob in the middle!

The boy arrives at the house just too late as the family car is pulling out of the driveway. Oh no!
The End!
